Gina Brandolini

Gina, violin teacher at the New Jersey School of Music, is a violinist who teaches and performs locally. Her enthusiasm shines through in her energetic and individual approach with students. Gina began taking violin lessons at age 3. At age 7, she began studying with Mimi Butler, private teacher and author of three books. Mimi and Gina still maintain a close professional association. After graduating from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Gina went on to pursue a private teaching certificate. She is currently a professional member of ASTA (American String Teacher’s Association). In addition to her position as first violinist in a community chamber group, Gina’s experience includes teaching private lessons since 2001, performing at private parties and events, as well as at numerous Senior Citizen Centers. To compliment her teaching skills, Gina has experience interacting with families and children through Burlington County Family Services which augments her ability to effectively communicate with her students.

In order to provide a solid musical foundation for her students, she addresses all elements of music, treating each with equal importance during the lesson. Rather than taking the same approach with each student, Gina tailors each lesson to the needs of the student. She works with many different lesson, technique and performance methods all of which integrate strong note reading skills, articulation, duration, technique, emotion/feel, dynamics, rhythm/tempo, tone, phrasing, spacing/rests and listening. Gina incorporates both traditional Classical and Suzuki methods into lessons, as appropriate to the students’ needs.
